[NEWS] LP chair, BoT chairman disagree over Jonathan, polls shift

Akure—NATIONAL Chairman of the Labour Party, Abdulkadir Abdualsalam weekend disowned the party’s Board of Trustees Chairman, Chief Dan Iwuanyanwu’s statement on the party’s endorsement of President Goodluck Jonathan and postponement of the general elections.
Addressing newsmen in Akure, Abdulsalam declared that; “The party has not taken position on those two critical issues”.
The chairman, who was accompanied by the National Secretary of the party, Mr Kayode Ajulo said “the two issues are very complicated and critical, which no one can just wake up one day and comment about.”
According to him “The issue of altering the scheduled elections is delicate, critical and complicated one that somebody cannot just comment about without regard to the party’s hierarchy and processes.”
Jonathan’s visit to Ondo now Wed
Meanwhile, the re-sheduled visit of President Goodluck Jonathan to Ondo State for his re-election campaign has been fixed for Wednesday
A statement by the Information Commissioner Hon. Kayode Akinmade in Akure yesterday said the Peoples Democratic party’ candidate in the February 14 Presidential election will address a rally in the city in the course of the campaign.
